The Health and Weight Loss Benefits of Japanese Green Tea!
In all my years of dieting and struggling, Japanese Green Tea is the one product I have found that consistently helped me to lose weight and not feel hungry. I lost over 170 pounds and besides changing my thinking, GREEN TEA was the biggest factor in my weight loss.
The Health Benefits of Green Tea were discovered over 4,000 years ago in the Orient and since then has become the number one drink in the world.
Green tea’s health secret lies in the fact it is rich in catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant: besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue.
Green tea is rich in polyphenols. Polyphenols are considered the most effective of the all antioxidants and the amounts and effects are far higher in high quality green tea compared pills, supplements and other teas.
Consuming green tea is said to lower the levels of total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol, thereby reducing platelet aggregation, and helping keep blood pressure in check.
Scientific research in both Asia and the West is providing solid evidence of the health benefits long associated with drinking green tea. In 1994, the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological study indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly sixty percent. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol. It has also been shown to inhibit the abnormal formation of blood clots.
There is a lot of scientific evidence out there, but I think the proof is in the results and I can wholeheartedly stand behind the weight loss and health benefits of green tea.
Here are the medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:
cancer
rheumatoid arthritis
high cholesterol levels
high blood pressure
cardiovascular disease
lowers blood sugar
infections
impaired immune function
helps stabilize diabetes
it makes your skin healthier and prettier
assists in weight loss
slows the aging process
deters food poisoning
aids in digestion
encourages bowel regularity
provides you with a mild stimulating effect without causing sleepless nights
prevents tooth decay and fights plaque
Can it be that one drink can do so much? The answer is YES and we encourage you to start drinking green tea today so you can reap all of green tea’s health benefits too!

Sierra,
Thanks for this specific info about green tea, which seems to have become quite the popular product lately. I had wondered whether there was a difference among different products labeled 'green tea' and assumed there WAS, since it is so common among marketers to jump on a popular bandwagon with same name but much lower quality. I've saved info above.
Thanks,
Carolan
I honestly can't say how other green teas work, but I can say that this tea that I recommend above, besides the mental work I did, was the single biggest factor in my weight loss. It is amazing stuff, it regulated my system, raised my metabolism, made me less hungry and helped the pounds to literally drop away! I sound like a commercial and with good reason. THE STUFF WORKS
Don't you just LOVE THAT? Yeah, Jen, this tea is the one thing I feel comfortable recommending to EVERYONE. I can't say if it will help so much with weight loss like it did for me, but it certainly can't hurt considering all the other benefits it has!
I also drink my tea with goji berries grown in Tibet. I throw in a small handful with the tea when brewing. Goji berries are the most nutriant rich fruit on the planet!! I notice a big difference in my energy when using them!
Let me know how you like the green tea and how it works for you! I am so grateful that my IB led me to green tea and to this brand (I've become friends with the owner!)
It has worked really well for me in many areas of my health and well being so I love to hear how it helps others!
Okay. I'm confused. Sierra, there are 2 links in this thread. Which is the one you recommend to purchase the green tea from? What is the brandname? I probably just missed it. It is because I am suffering from this terrible BRAIN FOG and I need some green Tea QUICK.
Sierra - I'm certainly getting my Green Tea education! So, of all the teas mentioned at this site - is there a particular one to choose from? It's a little confusing to decide between the different types of teas.
You are not the first person who has told me that they get confused with all the choices, so I am putting together a page with my favorites... I am just waiting for the tea guy to give me the codes... In the meantime, you can go to
THANK YOU, Sierra! It's amazing how little I knew about Green Tea, and how much there is to learn. I'm truly looking forward to placing my order, not only because I appreciate the opportunity to assist my body (and my thinking) into harmony - but because I love drinking tea...especially in the summer.
Another question - does it matter if you drink tea hot, warm or cold? That might sound like a ridiculous question, and really deciding my own preference is what's most important. I was more curious about the benefits of temperature, if there are any.
Sierra,
My shipment came yesterday. I am looking forward to using it tomorrow. Got my teapot all polished up and ready. (Ususlly I stick a bag of Yogi tea in a cup of water, and that's it.) I see where this tea is treated a bit more importantly..
Tracy, Green tea does have a bit of caffine in it. I also prefer the tea hot, I believe that for me the hot tea really kicked in my metabolism and regulated other things. That might not be the case for you, but my body definately likes the hot tea. I drink it at least twice a day.
And Pat, yes, some people just like to use the tea bags and keep it simple, or it can be a more detailed process using the tea pots and seeping the tea for the right amount of time.
I started off just using the tea bags, but once I decided that I really liked the green tea, I got myself a ceramic tea pot and got more "official" about it. I love my green tea!!
Thank you for that information, Sierra. I remember listening to certain "authorities" on the subject of water: Spring, or Reverse Osmosis? Room temperature, or chilled? So many different opinions formed from many different experiences, especially as it related to metabolism.
I've never been a huge tea drinker, but have purchased some very nice loose leaf English, Irish and Chai teas online. Those are delightful. I also drink a lot of organic ice tea throughout the summer (along with lots of water), which is why I asked about the green tea.
Drinking hot tea is not an issue tho, and might actually be a nice change from drinking coffee, which I do love.
I've been experiencing some recent break-throughs regarding my own body weight / image thoughts lately - so am very much looking forward to ordering the green tea.
Thanks, again, for all the information and the sharing of your experience. It really is very inspiring for me and has caused me to look at some patterns of thought I've been avoiding most of my life. That is just the coolest thing ever!!!
I drink 2-3 cups of green tea a day and have noticed it has helped me with releasing excess weight, boosting my energy and making me feel good. I don't currently drink any type of fancy one or anything - but I'm sure a better brand would do me better - so I intend on manifesting the best green tea for my health and wellbeing to me NOW.
I can't speak for any other tea because this is the only one I tried, the one I was led too... and I can say that it worked WONDERS for me. I still drink it every day and notice a big difference when I don't!
hint: I use frozen cherries instead of ice cubes ;-)
The post also contains health benefits of cherries...combined with Green Tea, it's phenomenal!
Interesting how the video above mentions that drinking the tea hot (vs. cold) is better for appetite suppression, but I have not personally found the temperature of the tea to matter (for me). Either way, the tea boosts my energy and satisfies me. Perhaps this is that because I decided it was so. Everything starts with thoughtform energy.
I posted a study about the health benefits of cherries, which is one of the main ingredients in the VIBE nutritional supplement that I take every day and LOVE!!!
