Hi! Has Abraham ever addressed this? It's been coming up for me a lot lately. Thanks so much, Denise

This is a good question. After listening to a lot of Abraham I don't think this has ever been directly addressed in the exact wording you use. Nonetheless...here is the answer:
"Thy Will Be Done" translated into Abe-speak would be equivalent to "downstream", "get in the vortex and then..." and "let go and let god" (not abe''s phrase, but referenced often enough).
Basically, according to Abe, we have already asked and are always asking - every time we go through a moment of contrast (seemingly unfortunate situations) we put out a request that it be different. This is the asking. The universe (god) then puts together the solution for us, and it is waiting. The only thing that prevents us from it being given to us is that we still have resistance to receiving the gift (we are not "vibrationally aligned" to what we've asked for).
"Thy Will" is the will of what Abe would call the "Inner being" or Self - it is the will of our source Self to give us everything that we have asked for throughout our life. Our normal everyday will contradicts that "Thy Will" because our normal everyday will is constructed off of resistance to certain decisions, resistance which is informed by our fear which has been a lifetime in the making. The opposite of our will which is constructed by fear is "Thy Will" or, basically, faith, which is constructed in love and inherent trust in the universes desire to be good to us. Abe would call this moving downstream or being in the vortex.
For example, if you have been asking for a lot of money because you have been relatively poor, the universe may throw what is apparently an obstacle in front of you to bring you - by the path of least resistance - to that money. Let's say someone who appears like a lunatic runs up to you and starts annoyingly ranting about some local, really dirty, grocery store. The will of your normal everyday life would inform you that this person is crazy, the grocery store is dirty, and then, because of all of the resistance/fear you have built up against lunatics and dirty grocery stores you decide to not listen and ignore the person. This is "Your Will".
"Thy Will" would be to actually listen to such a situation, to be in an internal situation that is open to the universe guiding you (by the lunatic) vs. you guiding your own way in the universe (away from the lunatic and what he says). For instance, here if you were to actually look past your own resistance and fear you may go to that dirty grocery store (in implicit trust that the universe is guiding you toward something) and, lo and behold, you find a winning scratch ticket on the ground that had been thrown away. This winning lottery ticket would never have been found if you followed "Your Will" and avoided the lunatic and what he was saying.
So in Abe speak it basically breaks down to this:
"Ask" = (live, go through contrast, make requests)
"and it is" = (the universe works toward bringing it to you).
"given" = "Thy will be done" (you give up on your own fear based guidance/will and allow the universe to guide you instead, by the path of least resistance, to what you have asked for - which is called faith/Thy Will)
Basically, every spiritual discipline always comes to the same process, whether it is Christianity, Thelema, Levenson's release technique, Judaism, etc. etc.:
1. You live and build up a personality based off of fear of various types of loss (survival, social, etc.). This life of fear gives you a distinct personality, likes and dislikes, etc. (contrast). That contrast, in Abe speak, builds up positive solutions into your vibrational escrow.
2. You learn through whatever spiritual discipline you come from that the highest level is a deconstruction of that personality - discarding the fear based control that is guiding your decisions in everyday life. By doing this you uncover what is called variously God, source, etc. - the simple unity that underlies the structure of your fractured identity.
3. After the revelation of that inner source, then comes the period of integration - where you integrate the source into the structure of your identity so that your inner being expresses itself through your particular life-situation.
Step 3 is why there are always different phrases in each path to describe what is essentially the same process: "Thy will be done" "Let go and let god" "Get into the Vortex" "downstream" "Love is the Law, Love under Will" "Nirvana and Samsara are one" - they are all spoken of differently because each time source/god expresses itself through a realized individual it takes on the clothing (cultural/social/personal conditions) of that individual for expression. There are also different opinions about how far to integrate or where to sit in relation to source once it is uncovered.Last edited on Thu Jan 26th, 2012 10:44 am by anonymouse
