After the Storm, Comes the View!

It was about 5:30 pm, just as it was starting to get dark. At this time of year we usually get rain about that time almost every day, little rain showers that pass through. But on this day, the wind really picked up and picked up and picked up until it was way more than I had ever seen before. I started to get frightened as I saw leaves blowing sideways and palm trees doubled over and everything swirling around. Like I see on TV during hurricanes. I realized that it must be a water spout/twister that came to shore. It was probably the most frightening 10 minutes I have ever experienced, realizing that I was nothing compared to strength of nature and that there was nothing I could do but wait it out. I heard trees falling and cracking all over and hid in a corner praying that one wouldn’t fall on top of my tin roof. I was worried about my boats too. It finally stopped, but my knees were shaking for the next two hours!!!

The next morning, I couldn’t believe what had happened. Big huge trees were down!!! But the amazing thing, my already incredible ocean view had expanded more than I could have imagined. From my bed, where I lately have been sitting to work on my book instead of at my desk (which already has an incredible view) I now have an open view of the ocean that I didn’t have before. Now I can see whales passing by from my bed!!! I would never ever cut trees down, and I felt sad for the trees that had lived so many years only to be downed in seconds, but I have to look at the bright side, AFTER THE STORM COMES THE VIEW!!! After we go through a trial of some kind, what we are left with afterwards is the vision, experience and knowledge that we gained from that situation…… and the thing is to learn from it, take the lesson and move forward! Nature is always teaching us lessons if we listen!

Making Decisions Based on Joy, Not Money

I closed my successful eco lodge here in Costa Rica on May 1, 2007. It was a happy, joyous day for me! I had no longer found joy in running the hotel for many reasons, it was a source of stress and conflict, and I followed my heart and intuition and converted it into a marine education and research center. All is well and many wonderful things came out of that decision!

Well, a few days ago, the person who actually introduced me to this property ten years ago, asked if he could “rent” my hotel for a couple of months because his place would not be ready in time for the high season and he already had reservations. He offered me a $5000 deposit and $5000 a month. Sure, I could use that money, it would pay off several bills, so I actually considered it for a few days.

But every time I really checked with my Inner Being, with my true feelings, I knew the answer. I had gotten away from all that craziness for good reason, and I am so enjoying my peaceful, quiet home now….but I could use the money, and maybe it was Source’s way of giving me some, was I just being “selfish” and non allowing and not seeing income being offered by Source?….. So it went in my mind.

Then last night I really thought about it and remembered that I am all about following my heart, and by doing this just for the money, when I knew it would not be a fun time for me, I was going against who I am. By doing something just for the money that I know will not bring me joy, and will actually bring me non-joy, I am saying to the Universe that there is limitation and no other sources of income and therefore I have to do something I don’t want to do!! Well, NO WAY, JOSE (actually, it’s Fernando, but that didn’t rhyme!!!) It’s just not like that! Life is supposed to be fun! Divinely offered Source income doesn’t feel so hard and upstream to do!

And when I made my final decision, and I felt the feelings of relief and calmness, I knew it was the right decision!! That is how we know where is the Highlighted Route to our joy, happiness and true path. HOW DOES IT FEEL? What makes you feel good? What gives you relief?

Here’s to unlimited resources and following your heart and intuition!! You don’t have to do anything that doesn’t bring you joy because Source will always provide channels that do!!!

Desperate Housewives in the Garden of Eden or, The New Story of Adam and Eve

A few days ago I came across a “children’s version” of the story of Adam and Eve. All scary stuff about a fearful God that punishes us, you know the story. Anyway, instead of getting upset about the poisoning of people’s minds against God, I decided to rewrite the story in a new way. Here it goes:

Desperate Housewives

in the Garden of Eden

(In my imagination, the part of Eve is played by Gabrielle on Housewives (whose real name is Eve, love that!) and the part of Adam is played by the hot gardener she cheated on her husband with……)

One beautiful day, Source Energy decided to create a new planet called Earth. This planet would be incredible, created from all leading edge thought that had gone before about what would be a perfect world. And so it was done. Amazing animals, plants, trees, oceans, mountains, streams and rivers were created and all lived in harmony and perfect balance, knowing their connection to Source Energy. Source was pleased with this creation. It was all good. But after a short while (which could have been millions of years in Source Energy time), Source was a little frustrated. “This perfect world is a little boring, just perfect, perfect, perfect all the time! We need some excitement around here! We need contrast!” And so Source created man as a physical extension of itself, giving him the power of creating his own reality (“This should be interesting”, thought Source), and called him Adam. Source was pleased.

Adam immediately had a rocket of desire to have human companionship. The trees and animals were nice and all, but he wanted someone to chew on his thoughts with, and somewhere to put his “physical extension” that he couldn’t stop playing with (“It feels sooooo good, Thanks, Source, but I need a woman!), and since Adam was a powerful creator, an extension of Source Energy, he created his dream woman, Eve. Source was pleased and so was Adam! Eve was hot!

Source, always looking to expand the leading edge of thought, expanded by the contrast that create desires for new things and to ask new questions, decided to give Adam and Eve the choice of living for eternity, together, or having the option of croaking, merging back into pure Source Energy, and then doing it all again with a fresh new perspective, if they desired. “This will be REALLY INTERESTING” thought Source. “Here is a map to a giant Apple tree I have hidden in the Garden of Eden. If you ever want to croak and start over, just eat one of those apples. That will be your message to me that you want a fresh new perspective, that you see the value of contrast to create new desires and leading edge of thought, and that living in this physical body for eternity is not your desire. Adam and Eve were very happy living together in paradise, running around naked, eating organic fruits, discovering the joy of sex (although Adam still couldn’t seem to keep his own hands off his “physical extension”), and all was well. They couldn’t imagine why they would want to die and start all over. They wanted to live together forever!! After glancing at the map, they threw it into the fire, they would never need it!

But as time went on, Adam started to get on Eve’s nerves. “Adam, how many times do I have to tell you to put the toilet leaf down so that I don’t fall in the fricken shit hole?” “Adam, please stop playing Frisbee with the T Rex, he doesn’t know his own strength and he is making craters in the moon with that thing!” “A D A M!, put the Unicorn back in the barn and come help me clean up this mess from you and your goat friends’ wild “fermented grape juice” party last night! What is in that stuff anyway? I really don’t think Source intended for you to have sex with the animals. I mean, my GOD, dominion does not mean domination!!!” The straw that literally broke the camel’s back came for Eve when Adam, being the egotistical person he was, (“I am a powerful creator, I AM ADAM!” he would shout from the mountaintops), refused to stop and ask for directions, and they ended up wandering in the desert for 40 years… (woops, wrong story!!!!)

Eve knew she needed a way out. She was not happy. She was not feeling joy. She had no one to talk to. Wasn’t life supposed to be fun? But then she remembered her “secret friend” that came to her when she called. Sammy the Serpent was her true best friend; he always knew the right answers to her questions and gave her a strong feeling of being connected to Source Energy. Sammy only had her best interests at heart. Eve closed her eyes, called on Sammy, and sure enough, as soon as she was quiet and allowing, Sammy came to her.

“Sammy, what am I to do? I am miserable in this relationship now. I want to feel joy again! It was great at first, but we have grown apart and neither of us is happy. And it looks like we are stuck together for eternity because we burned the map to the Tree of Eternal Life!”“My dear Eve. You are also a powerful creator. You are also an extension of Sssssssssssssource Energy with access to all that is. All your “contrasts” with Adam have created a rocket of desire in you for a fresh new perspective, to live a life of joy. Now you know what you don’t want and can easily create what you do want! I took a long look at the map to the Tree of Eternal Life before you guys burned it. Being your best friend and all, I had a feeling things might go this way. I am always looking out for you. I am your connection to Ssssssssssssssource Energy, what some call their inner being! Together we will get to the Tree of Eternal Life.” So, Eve and her inner being guide, Sammy, traveled together to the center of the garden, following their intuition to find the easiest and most downstream path to the Tree. When they got to the Tree of Eternal Life, Eve couldn’t believe it! “But I have passed by this tree many times and never saw it here before!”

“You were not attracted to this tree and could not see it right in front of you because you were not in matching vibration with your desires. Now you are, and now you can see what has always been in your vibrational escrow, just waiting for you to bring your emotions and vibration into alignment with it.”Eve took a long look at the big, beautiful apple tree and asked Sammy, “Okay, what do I really want? To live for eternity with Adam, after all there were some good times, he is still pretty hot and all, and maybe, just maybe, I can change him…. ““OR, croaking and merging back into pure Source Energy and a fresh new perspective?”

Sammy picked the two biggest apples on the tree, one green and one red, handed them to Eve. In his best deep Laurence Fishburne voice told her, “You eat the green apple and the story ends. You wake in your bed with Adam for eternity and believe what you want to believe. You eat the red apple and you go to Ssssssource Energy Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.” (wooops, sorry, wrong movie!!!)

“So now, Eve, just listen to your emotions. What turns you downssssssssssstream? Which path feels good to you?” Eve looked back and forth at both apples. When she really checked in with her emotions and the path that would bring her joy, she was able to instantly make her choice with confidence. She looked up and smiled at Sammy. “Okay, Eve, which will it be, the Green Apple or the Red Apple?” And Eve took a big bite out of the most delicious red apple she had ever tasted!

Using My Imagination to Create a Cruise!!

A friend of mine from the Yahoo Abraham-Hicks Group and I have been having fun manifesting our desires with our imaginations and telling it like we want it to be, not necessarily how it is. It started with a desire to go on the Abraham-Hicks Caribbean Cruise in March of 2008 and we took off from there!

This kind of creation comes from using your IMAGination, or IMAGING your life as you want it to be. A lot of people do have trouble with the word “pretending”, because it seems like you are “faking” or trying to do something that is not real. So I always say it is “creating” not “pretending”. Imaging or using your Imagination to create your life IS the process of how to create!!! There is no pretending to it, it is HOW IT IS DONE! You are not PRETENDING, you are CREATING!!! Your IMAGINATION is your CREATION tool!!!!

A QUOTE FROM ABRAHAM-HICKS:

You have to get really good at telling it how you want it, not beating the drum of how it is. I have always been good at that, even way before Abraham. So much so, that people told me I was just making stuff up and I lived in a fantasy world. But look where my fantasies have gotten me!!! I created the life I have here in Costa Rica by talking it up before it happened, acting as if I already had the things I wanted and then stepping back and letting Source work it’s magic.

And today, the money showed up for the cruise and I signed up!!! So, get that poolside chair ready, BECAUSE AFTER CREATING THAT I WAS THERE WITH MY IMAGINATION, I AM NOW ACTUALLY GOING TO BE THERE!!! I love that!! The process of using your imagination to create is a true gift that allows us to easily flow downstream!

Contrasts and the Rockets of Desire that they Create

So last night as I sat on the beach pissed off because I was waiting for two of my employees to get back from fishing and they were very late, I decided to change my thoughts to the rockets of desire this contrast was creating. It was such a POWERFUL and INSTANT downstream process that I wanted to share it and create a place where we can all share our contrasts and the rockets of desire they create. It changed my vibration so fast, that by the time they got back, I wasn’t even mad anymore, but happy! Boy where they surprised because they thought they were in BIG TROUBLE!!

CONTRAST: Licho and Nito ask me if they can get off work an hour early (2:00 pm) and use my boat to go fishing. I say sure, no problem. They’ve done it many times before and always bring yummy fresh fish to eat and just go out for a couple of hours. At 6:00 pm, they still were not back. Now it is dark. They are in my little 50 hp boat. I go to sit on the beach and wait. I think about what if something happened to the motor or they are out of gas? There is no way to go and look for them at night and they will just drift all night. I check, they didn’t bring a VHF radio with them. What if they are just having fun, knowing they can’t have the boats out after dark, they have to do a beach landing (in the waves) at night and the moon is not out and it is dark. There are rocks that they can easily hit and tear up my propeller coming in. Why do they always have to take advantage, I was being nice letting them use my boat and leave work early….. bla bla bla, etc. etc. etc.

Then I looked around and realized how beautiful the beach was at that time, and every time the waves crashed, the water glowed with bio-luminecense. It was amazing!! I didn’t want to be mad anymore. I decided to concentrate on the rockets of desire this contrast was creating in me instead:

ROCKET OF DESIRE: I want to learn to fly my little flying boat so that I am not dependant on Licho as a pilot anymore (he knows I need him right now!). Thoughts of flying around as pilot over the ocean and dolphins and whales made my vibration fly!!! I am going to check into the cost of lessons today!

ROCKET OF DESIRE: I want to attract new employees or even better, my partner and/or friends that will help me around here with things like the generator, fixing things, building things, creating a marine education center, so that I am not dependant upon these particular employees. I thought about the great community I want to create here in paradise with like minded Abe people! (accepting applications!) That was great!

ROCKET OF DESIRE: I want to get lights on my boats for nighttime fun!

ROCKET OF DESIRE: I want to come to the beach more often at night!

And so it went. It was so fast and so immediate and SOOOOOO FREEEEEEEING!!! I was sailing downstream in seconds!!! I would have done myself no good staying stuck in the CONTRAST and all my negative thoughts, being pissed off on the beach, and probably still pissed off today, and instead I totally elevated my vibration to new heights by defining and concentrating on the ROCKETS OF DESIRE that were created from it.

WHAT A POWERFUL PROCESS!!! THANK YOU ABRAHAM!!!

I highly recommend this process for quick downstream thoughts when faced with a contrast! If you feel inspired, try it!

Fly Like an Eagle

WOW, WHAT A DAY!!!

This morning I took time to walk very slowly around my garden…. I have been working on my property for 10 years now, always adding heliconias and other flowers that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. When I say garden, I mean 10 acres of property….. well, now after all this time, my garden is just incredible. It is a flurry of color that makes me dizzy there is so many flowers and different colors and smells! I have over 30 kinds of heliconias and other flowers around here. This morning I was just amazed at how many butterflies and hummingbirds there are…. And of course, the incredible Morpho Butterfly, the florescent flying light… they make me so happy every time I see them…..

Then today was the day we finally got my flying boat out after being grounded for several months waiting for paperwork. It is an actual rubber dingy that flies! As I waited on the beach for the guys to get the wings ready, I played with the dogs and listened to my Ipod…. As they were pushing the dingy into the water, Kenny Loggins “Will of the Wind” came on…perfect for flying… then the next song as we took off, Steve Miller’s “Fly Like an Eagle”. My ipod always has a way of playing the perfect song at the perfect time!!! WOW, I had forgotten how incredible it is to fly over this precious coast, with the rainforest coming all the way to the beach… from the sky you can see everything, all the rocks in the water, the trees, the water, the island. We saw four humpback whales within five minutes, two moms with their tiny babies. It is incredible to see them from the air. It was a perfect day for flying and we took an hour flying up and down the coast… totally breathtaking!!!! AMAZING!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY FLYING BOAT!!!!

Then I came back to my room, totally blissed out and content and the last step before entering my room I stepped into a pile of monkey shit…. I laughed so hard because it was just such a contrast to the rest of the day, but nothing could ruin my mood. As Abraham-Hicks says, you have to have the contrast to know what you really want!!! Even monkey shit can’t bring me down today!!!! Just wanted to share!!!

How I Manifested a Theft of My Money

I pay my employees on the 1^st of each month. Because of my remote location, the nearest bank is an hour by boat and 20 minutes by car. I have a trusted taxi driver who always has one of my ATM cards on him and on this day I sent another card with my boat so that I could get enough cash out to pay my employees. Right before my boat left the “town” my taxi guy called me to say he hadn’t been able to get all the money out and couldn’t reach me because the phones were down and was now back at the dock. I was only a little annoyed, it meant I wouldn’t be able to pay everyone everything, but my employees are used to things happening like that and it would only be the next day that I could finish. I had most of it. No big deal.An hour later, my boat captain called on the VHF radio that he was coming in and to send the guys down to the beach to help. We were also bringing in gasoline, food and my mail. I had been ordering a lot of stuff online (Ebay Queen!) because I am going to my class reunion this month and I want a new dress to show off my new body! I won’t have much time to shop when I get there and didn’t want to be in a panic looking for a dress after arriving in the real world with shopping malls!

Normally I would have run down to the beach to greet the boat and get the money and the packages, but on this day it was pouring rain and I waited in my room. One of the guys brought up a piece of exercise equipment I had bought and I started to put it together, waiting for my captain to bring me the money. He always keeps it in his personal bag. It takes him a while to get up to my room, he has to clean the boat, kayak in from the boat to the beach, put stuff away, etc. etc. So I thought nothing when over an hour passed and he still hadn’t arrived.

As I was rejoicing in my ability to put together this complicated piece of equipment by myself, I was listening to the soundtrack from Legends of the Fall, which I now associate with the Abraham-Hicks “The Secret Behind the Secret” part of the soundtrack from that DVD. That music (and the DVD) always puts me in the State of Bliss that I have so often now, much of it thanks to Abraham and some of the things said in that video.

So as I am tightening screws, my captain comes to my door with a long face. He can see that I am extremely happy as I showed him my accomplishment, and said, “See, I don’t need a guy for these things!” He shifts back and forth and says (in Spanish, of course) “I am going to ruin your day.” My first thought is something happened to my boat. My heart starts to pound. “Your money got stolen.” My first reaction was NO WAY, HE’S JOKING. Licho, my captain, is always so careful. My mind is racing. I start to think of how I was going to pay everyone, I had funds all worked out and I have to transfer money around to get it here, etc. etc.

Licho goes on to explain that he put the bag of money inside another bag with all the receipts from the day and the key to his motorcycle. He put the bag in one of the vegetable boxes and sent it to the beach with everything else. Licho had brought three people from town, two policemen and Norberto, a local whom I have had problems with before. He is a nice guy when he is not drinking, but when he drinks, like many of the natives around here, becomes a totally different person. He had come over here with a machete threatening me a few months ago. He had stolen things from me, from neighbors, etc. etc. He likes to drink and do crack and coke too.

It is pretty obvious who stole the money. Between two policemen and Norberto, who had come back drunk and with a bottle in his hand, it didn’t take a CSI detective to figure this one out….. I remembered that the day that Norberto had come over with the machete, I was watching “What the Bleep?” with a friend of mine, my first time watching it. I was totally into the movie and in a state of bliss at what I was learning, and at that moment Norberto comes and threatens me. I don’t know what would have happened if my friend wasn’t here, but because there was a guy with me, Norberto backed off and left.

Just two days before the theft, I had gone next door to where Norberto lives (okay, “next door” is half a mile away, this is the jungle, remember!) I was tired of being frightened that he would arrive one day with a machete again, and had a nice conversation with him. After all, I had never done anything against him, except turn down his advances!!! That is no reason to come onto my property with a machete, totally drunk! Anyway he apologized, “I was drunk, I am so sorry, wont happen again”, bla bla bla and said that next time he would come over with flowers instead of a machete. Oh boy, I couldn’t wait!

Norberto had stolen my money while I was in another state of bliss, listening to music that reminds me of Abraham and just really happy! Okay, time to deal with this. I grabbed onto the first downstream thought I could. Thank GOD that my taxi guy couldn’t get all the money out of the ATM, or there would have been even more money stolen!! That was a good one! Here we go, downstream….. woooo hoooooo!!

Then I started thinking. Ok, first. Why did these two things happen with Norberto both times when I was in a state of bliss? My answer came immediately. It is not for us to be in total bliss all the time. If it was, then we might as well be in non-physical form. If it was just all bliss, all the time, how would we know what bliss was because there would be nothing to contrast it to! Bliss would just be bliss and we would know no other way. The contrast (such a great word for “shit happens”) comes to help us to expand and grow and call us forth into further awareness and even deepened bliss. If we were just in bliss all the time, then we would be done! The contrast is there to create new desires, of course, which in turn create new growth and expansion! The joy is in the ride, in the journey. The purpose of life is life! I had a new desire to work my way up the emotional scale with the thoughts that had caused me to get my money stolen so it would stop, because this was not the first time. A white butterfly lands on me as I have these thoughts. Okay, got that part right!

I have the Abraham-Hicks “Ask and It is Given” cards and so I chose one after this happened and it was: “I learn to Pay Attention to my Feelings” Your emotions are absolute indicators of your current point of attraction. They help you know, in any moment, whether or not you are currently allowing the fulfillment of your desire. It is our encouragement that you pay attention to how you feel and allow your emotions to be the valuable indicators they are.

I now remembered that I had said several times recently and in the past that Norberto was going to steal from me. My cousin, Barbara, had come last year to help run the hotel in its final weeks because I was completely DONE with it and couldn’t take it anymore. In the time she was here, she fell in “lust” with another local boy, Jairo, a friend of Norberto’s. At the time, Jairo was a friend of mine too, but AFTER HE STOLE FROM ME a couple of times after Barbara had left, I stopped hanging out with him.

I knew Barbara would want him here while I was gone. I said “No way, he will steal from me or he will tell Norberto that I am gone and Norberto will come and steal from me.” I said it in emails and on the phone to her. My big fear was while I was gone, that Norberto or Jairo would come and steal from me!!! I GOT EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING AND TALKING ABOUT!!!! It just happened before I left, not while I was gone. Ah yes, my stream if flowing faster now!!!

BA (Before Abraham) my thoughts about this theft would have gone something like, “What did I do wrong? What did I do in a past life? Did I not tithe enough? That mother f-ker, SEE I KNEW HE WOULD DO IT, I was right, bla bla bla. But I’ve got to tell you, there is SO MUCH POWER in saying, okay, what about my THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS created this? There is so much more power in that! There is great power in knowing that you created it and that you can fix it within yourself. I don’t need to change the world and drunk Costa Rican neighbors!!! Just me!!! It is the feeling of powerlessness that gets people so upset and mad and irrational. I could very well feel powerless in this situation, that the theft happened to me, that I can’t control people stealing from me, etc. But I KNOW that I totally created this!!

It is nighttime now as I write this. A HUGE butterfly just hit me right in the face. Seriously. It is about seven inches across and has four see-through “windows” in it’s wings. It has now landed on the material I have wrapped around my light, and there it stays as I write…..

Anyway, I think that the people around me were surprised that I was not upset and mad, but actually continued being calm and even happy through it all. It is because I feel so empowered knowing that me and only me created it. And what good would being upset and mad do me? It wouldn’t change what happened. Of course, Norberto has his own thoughts going on, but it is in the perfection of the Law of Attraction that we both got what we were thinking about!

By the way, the police came today and questioned Norberto (and found him with pot ready to sell in individual bags!) and they talked to all the people who he bought things from, seems he went on a shopping/party spree yesterday. He was taken to their office and has been charged, but not put in jail yet, things work a bit differently here in Costa Rica. But it doesn’t matter to me now. I want to expand me! (How selfish!!!)
